Food Safety Initiative

Pilot Project (FSI) - 2008


Food Technology Consulting assisted in the development and implementation of Advantage GMP/HACCP programs in four processing facilities. Food Technology Consulting's dedication and effort - together with OMAFRA staff, scientists, certified laboratories and Canadian General Standards Board - resulted in Advantage GMP/HACCP certification at these four facilities. This project identified a number of areas where improvements can be made to Advantage GMP/HACCP programs.

Program Manual Review - 2009


Food Technology Consulting reviewed the draft of the new Advantage GMP/HACCP Program Manual. This project identified opportunities to make the program simpler to understand for those just beginning to develop their own Advantage GMP/HACCP System.

FSEP Manual Review - 2010


Food Technology Consulting reviewed and provided comments to the CFIA and Food Industry on the changes made to the FSEP Manual. The purpose of the project was to simplify and improve existing FSEP standards.

Review of differences between FSEP and GFSI programs - 2013


Food Technology Consulting reviewed and provided comments to the CFIA and Food Industry on the similarities and differences between GFSI and FSEP standards. The purpose of this initiative is to understand the best way to upgrade FSEP standards into GFSI standards for the companies that need both.
